Hernando Sportsman’s Club is home to the best action shooting matches in the Greater Tampa Bay Area, including: Rifle, Pistol, Pistol Caliber Carbine (PCC), Shotgun, and Night Matches.

All of the following applies to every action shooting match, except the night match, which due to being held at night, operates on a different time schedule. More information about the individual matches is listed below.

Schedule

The match schedule is listed in the event calendar and on Practiscore.

Sign up

Sign up on Practiscore to request advanced squad placement. Those requests will be honored if possible, but are not guaranteed, as the match director may need to make changes for administrative purposes. Please note: Your registration is not complete until you show up at the range on match day, in person, to pay the match fee.

Fees

All matches are $10 for members and $25 for non-members, payable at the range on the day of the match between 8:00am – 8:45am. The match fee must be paid by 8:45am to shoot the match.

Safety

As a prerequisite to participate in any match, all participants must be able to operate their firearms safety and follow range officer commands, without assistance from anyone else. This means being able to load, fire, move safety between shooting positions, work the action to clear malfunctions, unload and show clear, etc..

All shooters should be familiar with the match rules before coming to a match. In addition, there will be a mandatory safety meeting at 9am. All shooters must attend the safety meeting to participate in the match. New shooters are encouraged to ask for clarification of the safety rules if the are unsure.

No tracer, incendiary or penetrator ammunition (XM885, Green Tip, SS109, etc.). Chamber flags are required for all long guns.
